  1. Korngold was the first composer to receive sole screen credit, and always penultimate to the Director. It was part of his unique contract. Thanks to him, Steiner, Waxman, Rozsa and all the other great film composers eventually did too. Nowadays, the composer rarely receives such an accolade.
